Using Help
════════════
PgUp-Up one page Ctrl PgUp-First page
PgDn-Down one page Ctrl PgDn-Last page
Pressing an index letter moves to the page
listed. Any other key moves to the index.
Help is context sensitive where appropriate.

Select Target Drive - F3
════════════════════════
Select the destination drive that files will
be backed up to. Pressing F3 will "rotate"
through the available drives on the system.
Press F3 repeatedly until the desired drive
is displayed. Nonremovable drives require
the use of F9 to enter the backup target
path. Floppy drives will always backup
to the root directory.
<PAGE>
~c
Verify Option - F4
════════════════════
If verify is on, all files are verified as
they are copied to the destination floppy.
The backup process is slower, but data
integrity is verified. We recommended that
you set this option ON. Use the F4 key to
toggle verify On or Off.

!Date
Date filter - F5
══════════════════
If a date filter is entered, only files with
date stamps equal to or greater than the
date filter are included in the backup.
The date filter may be used with the file
specification field to further filter
files for backup.

Select Disk Size - F6
═══════════════════════
Select the disk size to be used when the
target drive is a floppy drive. Pressing F6
will toggle between the two valid disk
sizes for that drive. F6 has no effect on
low density drives. The size selected is
used in formatting the disk and estimating
the number of disks required for the backup.

Toggle File Compression - F7
══════════════════════════════
Pressing F7 will toggle the file compression
mode. When file compression is ON, a
proprietary method of file compression is
applied to each file archived. File
compression results in a savings of about
50%. Files smaller than one cluster and
files that do not yield any savings are
copied without compression.

!scriptpath
Load a Script File - F8
═════════════════════════
Pressing F8 will allow you to load a script
file to control the backup process. After
pressing F8, you are prompted to enter the
path and file name of the script file to
load. A default path and file extension is
added if omitted. However, you must provide
a file name. If the script file contains
the /NON switch, you are immediately
prompted for the first disk and the backup
starts.

!targetpath
Enter Backup Target Path - F9
═══════════════════════════════
Press F9 to enter a backup target path when
the target drive is any drive other than a
floppy drive. If the target drive is NOT a
floppy drive, then the target path MUST be
entered before the backup can proceed.
Files cannot be archived on the root
directory on a hard disk or network drive.
If the target path is specified by the
/B switch in a script file, you are not
required to enter the target path.

!path
Source Path
═════════════
At the path input prompt, type the name of a
valid DOS path and wildcard to select the
files to be archived. More than one path
and wild card can be used by using a script
file. Script files also allow the use of one
or more path and wildcards to "exclude"
matching files from the backup. If the drive
letter, path, filename, or extensions are
omitted, the appropriate defaults will be
used. Press the ESC key to return to the
main options screen.

!disks
Backup Disks Required
═══════════════════════
The number of disks needed to backup the
selected directory depends on the disk size
and whether or not file compression is used.
Normally, File compression yields an average
total savings of 50% average. The number of
disks needed is an estimate, extra disks
should be ready in case they are needed.

!insert
Insert Disk Number
════════════════════
Insert a new disk numbered according to the
prompt. The numbers are necessary for the
restore procedure.
If the disk contains data, you are given
options to try another disk, erase the disk
or abort the backup. You may also view the
root directory of the disk. You are shown
the date/time stamp on disks from previous
backups. If the disk is blank, you are given
the option to format it before proceeding.

!erase
Erase Options
═══════════════
When the disk contains data but is not from
a previous backup, you are offered the
following options:
(1) You may view a list of files in the root
directory of the disk.
(2) Erase the contents of this disk only.
You will be prompted on later disks.

(3) Erase all disks. This option is the
same as option #2 except you are not
prompted on later disks with data.
(4) This option returns to the "insert
disk" prompt and allow you to try
another disk.
(5) This option aborts the backup
process.

!prevopt
Previous Backup Disk Options
══════════════════════════════
If the disk inserted is from a previous
backup, the date/time stamp from that backup
is displayed in the options window and
the program offers the following options:
(1) Erase This Disk. This disk is erased
entirely by creating a new FAT and root
directory. The disk will also be encoded
with a "signature" that lets the program
know that it is an EZ Backup disk.

(2) Erase this disk as with option (1), but
also erase any other disk from previous
backups if they are encountered.
(3) This option will return to the "insert
disk" prompt and allow the user to use
try using another disk.
(4) This option will abort the backup
process in the case that you have no
other disks that you can use.

!formatopt
Formatting Options
════════════════════
If the disk needs formatting, you have
the following options:
(1) Format This Disk Only. The disk is
formatted to the specified disk size.
If the disk is the wrong size, you are
allowed the option changing sizes.
(2) Format remaining disks automatically.
This disk and all other blank disks are
formatted as in option #1.

Interrupting Backup
═════════════════════
You may temporarily suspend the backup
process by pressing the escape key.
The process may be terminated by
(A)bort-ing at this point. The backup
process may be continued with no data
loss by choosing (C)ontinue. Note that
system files will NOT be archived.
